We built the system that runs it all
Off-the-shelf software couldn't run a business like ours, so in 2010 we started building Archer — our own transportation management system. It has run every shipment end to end ever since.

What does White Arrow do?
White Arrow is an asset-based carrier that moves temperature-controlled and dry freight coast to coast across the United States. It runs truckload, less-than-truckload and intermodal service on its own containers, trailers and terminals, and works directly with shippers rather than as a broker.
What is temperature-controlled intermodal?
It is refrigerated freight moved on Class I rail in the carrier's own containers instead of over the road the whole way. White Arrow built its business around it: the transit is faster than commodity intermodal and the cost per mile is lower than over-the-road truckload, with the reefer temperature monitored and visible throughout.
Does White Arrow offer refrigerated LTL?
Yes. Temperature-controlled less-than-truckload is unusual in the market and it is one of White Arrow's core services. Shipments are consolidated on White Arrow's own docks and moved on a fixed schedule. LTL is available in the primary lanes only.
Where does White Arrow operate?
White Arrow runs 7 company-operated terminals across the United States: Montebello, CA; Stockton, CA; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Mechanicsburg, PA; Secaucus, NJ; Springfield, MA. Primary lanes connect these terminals, and secondary lanes reach most of the lower 48 states.
How do I track a White Arrow shipment?
Enter a White Arrow load ID or your own reference number in the tracking field on whitearrow.com, or go to the customer portal at https://portal.whitearrow.com/. Tracking shows location and, for refrigerated freight, the reefer temperature. Customers can also receive push and email notifications, or pull the same data through the REST API or EDI.
Can I integrate White Arrow with my own TMS?
Yes. White Arrow offers a REST API, documented at https://docs.whitearrow.com/white-arrow-api-documentation, and can also connect over EDI. Both read from Archer, the transportation management system White Arrow has built and run in-house since 2010, so integrations see the same live data as its own dispatchers.
How do I get a freight quote from White Arrow?
Request a quote at https://www.whitearrow.com/contact or call 800-501-5589. Signed-in customers can also quote and tender a load directly in the customer portal in seconds. Useful details are origin, destination, commodity, weight, pallet count, temperature requirement and pickup date.
Is White Arrow a broker or an asset-based carrier?
White Arrow is asset based. It owns and maintains its tractors, trailers and containers, operates its own terminals, employs its own drivers, and works directly with shippers. It has been family owned since 1986, and is headquartered at 824 S Vail Ave, Montebello, CA 90640.
